Jessica Logan
Jessica came to the practice of yoga as an extension of her
Buddhist meditation practice and immediately found that the mindful movement of
yoga was a perfect complement to the practice of sitting meditation. Jessica has been practicing Zen and
mindfulness meditation for several years, participating in retreats led by the
renowned Zen master and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh in monasteries both in
France and in America. After years of personal practice, Jessica pursued her
teacher training in "classical yoga" at the Sivananda Ashram where she received
not only comprehensive training in asana and pranayama practice but also in
Vedanta, meditation methods and yogic philosophy under the guidance of the wise
and wonderful Swami Sitaramananda. For
Jessica, yoga truly is the practice of cultivating awareness, stability, peace
and a deeper understanding of the self...with the excellent side effect of
creating a strong, healthy body.
Knowing that each person's practice will be unique to their mind and
body, Jessica hopes to help each individual develop a practice that is right
for them.
Teaching is truly one of Jessica's passions. In addition to being a certified yoga
teacher, she holds a Master's degree in Education and has taught in various
capacities both in the United States and abroad. Her sincere hope is to share her gratitude and enthusiasm for
life through teaching. Also a musician,
you might also find her on a stage near you as the vocalist and bassist of the
swing jazz band, Zazou (www.zazoumusic.com)!
