Jodi Wellman first came to yoga while finishing her graduate studies in Boston Massachusetts, where she earned her M.Ed in Mental Health Counseling. Feeling truly at home on her mat, she experienced the freedom and subsequent joy of releasing both body and mind from the rigidity of her rigorous schedule, reveling in the quiet stillness and connectedness to Self. Through the sacred practice of yoga she continues to experience peace and clarity of mind as well as a profound respect for yoga's ability to unveil the exquisite unity that lies at the heart of our humanity.
Jodi's love of yoga led her on a journey to Southern India where she studied classical yoga and Vedanta philosophy at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. She has married this deep respect of yoga's traditional roots to her love of movement and flow through her study with Siva Rea, and continues to be instructed and inspired by the depth of knowledge and creative technique of Katerina Wen.
Jodi's classes emphasize fluidity and grace, allowing the integrity of the pose to manifest through consistent attunement to the breath; She seeks to create a space that allows students to explore their practice with curiosity and authenticity, to embody the calm dignity that unfolds when we allow ourselves the space to be in our own presence.
