Kelly Valenzuela has been teaching hatha yoga for the past 10 years not
only as an asana practice, but as a way of life. She believes yoga is a journey
of self discovery, self awareness and self-love, leading us through ever
deepening levels to our True and Highest Self. In her classes, Kelly invites
her students to meet themselves exactly where they are, to breathe, and to
allow the unfolding of their bodies to mirror the unfolding of their Hearts. Her teaching style balances sthira and sukha, effort
and ease, combining strong, active poses and sequences with calming, grounding
stillness. In this way the physical self can soften and relax helping the inner
self, our mind and emotions, to become more still and more at peace - this is
where we find to our Yoga, our Union. Kelly believes that yoga is unique to each practitioner.
While we all strive for greater openness, ease and strength on the mat and in
our lives, your yoga is perfect. It is exactly where you are on your journey,
and therefore there’s no where else you should be. Kelly is a Master’s Level Therapist with an M.A. from Bastyr
University, and holds yoga teaching
certificates from Mount Madonna Center in California and Sarah Powers, and a
BFA in Modern Dance.
