Safe Backbending & Shoulder Release Workshop with Natalia

natalia3-1Experience the joy of heart opening postures and the benefits they offer. We'll approach this practice safely, promoting healthy movements and flexibility in the spine, allowing us to backbend with wisdom and awareness. 

This workshop will be structured to be available and beneficial to yogis at all levels of practice. We will start with subtle, gentle heart openers, add shoulder releases balanced with counter poses, and only then take our practice towards deeper back bends.

By focusing on the key concepts of safe backbending and shoulder opening, the postures will manifest naturally. Backbends are known to increase energy, counteract depression, cultivate heightened awareness and feeling of joy, and they are therapeutic for asthma, infertility, and osteoporosis.

Poses we'll explore in this workshop:

Low and high cobra pose, Salabhasana variations, Upward facing dog, Reverse table - extending into Purvottanasana, advancing towards deeper backbends: Camel pose, Wild thing and how to take it safely into a Wheel pose, Ardha bekasana extending into a Bow pose, and Kapotasana
