Class Types:

Deep Relaxation / Guided Meditation Join Betsy two Fridays per month (1st Friday in Greenlake; 2nd Friday in Queen Anne) for the calming oasis we all need to rebalance and rejuvenate. Betsy will introduce a different theme each month, such as the Power of Intention. After some gentle stretches to open and relax the body, she will guide us in a multi-sensory meditation intended to lead you to a peaceful place of clarity within where you can connect with your wise guidance. Guided meditation is a powerful, intention-based practice with deeply healing benefits including total body/mind relaxation, better sleep, a stronger immune system, and a greater sense of freedom. This class will also strengthen your intuitive awareness and manifesting skills, so you can move forward in creating your own magical life. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability. Both brand-new-to-meditation and seasoned meditators are encouraged to attend.

Gentle Hatha: Enjoy the benefits of Hatha yoga at a slower, more restorative pace.  Great for all levels, those working through injuries, and those just beginning a physical exercise routine.

Hatha: Develop balance, strength, flexibility, and breath control in held postures with this alignment-based class.  Teaching styles vary.  You can visit our Instructors Page to find the right teacher for you.

Hatha Core: Integrate your entire body with focused movements from your core.  A great class to build low-back and abdominal strength.

Hatha Flow: Find balance between effort and relaxation in a class that combines the strength of held postures and the serenity of breath-directed movement.  Classes are based around the the fluid movements of the sun salutation and other breath-directed movements.

Hatha / Restorative: Join us for an all levels class that begins by developing balance, strength, flexibility, and breath control in held postures, followed by a restorative practice that allows the body to relax in receptive poses.

Pilates: These 1 hour sessions will leave you feeling marvelously elongated and supported from the inside out. Nancy’s Pilates mat classes offer an effective way to progressively build balanced and toned muscles, affecting your alignment, coordination and flexibility. Pilates works to strengthen weak muscles and relax overworked ones through a series of conscious, joint friendly movements that will awaken a new sensibility to your established daily movement patterns and posture. Highlighting the smaller stabilizing muscles between the shoulders and the pelvis (our core) will bring support and stability to the pelvis and spine. Building stability here effects movement of the extremities, because our movements originate in the torso. This deep, rhythmic muscular work also incorporates the breath to consciously release tension, notably in the shoulders and upper back. Experience how this dynamic and accessible form of body work can enhance your posture, your vitality and ultimately, your yoga. Nancy teaches with many visual and verbal cues to clarify the movements, and modifications are provided to challenge all to their abilities.

Restorative Chakra Yoga: Whether you are well versed in the language of the chakras or are newly interested in exploring energetic qualities associated with your yoga practice, this intentional and restorative practice is for you. We will meet the second Friday of every month, devoting a full hour and fifteen minutes to rejuvenating body, mind, and spirit through meditation (both guided and silent) and held postures designed to balance the chakra system. Everyone is welcome no matter what your experience with yoga is or physical ability. Bring an open mind and a desire to breathe deeply.

Restorative Yoga: Restorative Yoga is a practice of being, rather than doing, helping to relieve the effects of stress and bring the body, mind and spirit into harmony and balance. A short, gentle asana warm-up will relax and prepare mind and body to receive the benefits that Restorative Yoga offers. Class will usually end with a short guided meditation, and supported Savasana.

Vinyasa: Let your mind go in this high energy flow class.  A challenging, heat-building practice focused on continual, fluid movement.  A fundamental understanding of sun salutations, postures, and breath technique is recommended.
