Thendara Kida-Gee began her exploration of yoga as a way to embrace wellness in the face of personal health problems. She first studied Bikram Yoga while completing a B. A. in Fine Arts at Central Saint Martin's in London in the 1990s. Yoga Works trained and certified, Thendara has since developed a teaching style drawing on her experiences on and off the mat. Her teaching style originates in a desire to show others what has been shown to her in a creative and compassionate manner. Her teaching is a hybrid of the three main schools of Hatha developed from Krishnamacharya: Iyengar, Vini, and Ashtanga.
She is a dynamic teacher who challenges her students to find their own practice within their individual capabilities and limitations. Safety is her primary concern - she uses props to enable students to modify a pose safely, with the goal of leading each to gain inner awareness. Expect breath work as well as asana and a class taught with compassion, humor and imagination.
