Lilach Ozan

small_seattle_lilachEver since I can remember, I like to watch people and focus on scenes that happen around me.  I like to imagine that I am invisible, and that I can take pictures without ruining the moment with my presence.  I like to express the things I see through this amazing tool called a camera. I get an incredible satisfaction when I create a photo that represents what I have seen and experienced.

My goal is to continue doing what I like the most, capturing the life I see in photos until I have an honorable collection that I can show in an exhibition or in a photo book. My other goal is to help other people see and experience what I am expressing through my pieces.

I still remember the first time I was impressed with a photo that I took.  It was when I was eighteen years old. I took a photo of a lizard at the zoo in Israel. The composition was perfect and the light shined directly on the object. His tiny head was looking up, and the colors varied from different shades of gold to brown. Back then, I used an analog camera, so I still remember the happiness that I experienced when I got my photos from development.   The photo appeared perfect and then I enlarged it and framed it.  To this day I have this picture hanging on my wall.  This picture symbolizes my journey into this unique world of photography and each time I look at this picture, this moment warms my heart.

Liz Ewings

26d-duck-webLiz Ewings is a Northwest native. She grew up in Seattle, drawing and painting animals, earning a reputation as the 'horsey artist' in her high school art classes. She continued her art and design studies at the University of Washington and Western Washington University where she earned Bachelor of Arts degree. She spent many years applying her sense of color and design in the menswear industry, moving to Oregon and later California where she lived for eleven years, and traveling to Asia, Europe and North Africa.

It was in California that Liz renewed her love of the outdoors and its' inhabitants. She explored Mount Whitney and Joshua Tree, and was entertained by dolphins, sea otters, and other ocean characters while surfing and scuba diving the California coast. Meanwhile, she continued her art studies in figure drawing classes and painting in her garage. A trip to Australia and New Zealand that included sightings of humpback whales at play proved pivotal, cementing her decision to pursue art full time. Liz is known for her inventive use of color, and continues to be inspired by her encounters with animals both in and out of the water.
